        Step 1: Preparing to Boil

        Start by placing the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of your saucepan. Add enough cold water to the pan to cover the eggs by approximately 2.5cm (about 1 inch).

        Step 2: Boiling the Eggs

        Bring the water to a vigorous boil on high heat. Once boiling, remove the saucepan from the heat immediately and cover it with a lid. Allow the eggs to sit in the hot water for exactly 9 minutes for a firm yolk with a slightly creamy center.

        Step 3: Ice Bath

        Meanwhile, prepare an ice bath by filling a bowl with ice cubes and cold water. After 9 minutes, use a slotted spoon to transfer the eggs from the hot water to the ice bath. Let them cool for at least 5 minutes. The ice bath helps stop the cooking process and makes peeling easier.
