2 lbs (900 g) potatoes, peeled and cubed
1/2 cup (120 ml) whole milk or heavy cream
4 tbsp unsalted butter
1/2 cup (50 g) shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Mashed Potatoes
Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a pot of salted water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.
Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Mash with milk, butter, salt, and pepper until smooth. Stir in shredded cheddar if using.
Set aside to cool slightly while preparing the filling.
Step 2: Cook the Lamb Filling
