Start by cleaning your cast iron skillet with a stiff plastic scraper to remove any food residues. If necessary, use a small amount of coarse salt and water to scrub away any stubborn bits, then rinse thoroughly. Remember to avoid using soap as it can strip away the existing seasoning.
Step 2: Drying the Skillet
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Thoroughly dry the skillet with a lint-free cloth or paper towels to prevent rust from forming. Place the skillet on the stove over medium heat for about 5 minutes to ensure it’s completely dry.
