        • 65g (1/4 cup) caramel sauce
        • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
        • Simple sugar glaze (optional) – 100g (1 cup) powdered sugar mixed with 15ml (1 tbsp) milk

        Instructions

        Step 1: Prepare the Dough In a large mixing bowl, combine 250g of all-purpose flour, 50g of granulated sugar, and 5g of salt. Add 115g of chilled, cubed unsalted butter and work into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add 60ml of cold water until a dough forms. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

        Step 2: Prepare the Filling In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the diced apples, 50g of brown sugar, 15g of cornstarch, 2g of ground cinnamon, 1g of nutmeg, and 2g of vanilla extract. Cook until apples are softened and mixture thickens, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in 65g of caramel sauce. Let filling cool.

        Step 3: Roll Out the Dough On a floured surface, roll out the dough to 0.3cm thickness. Cut into rectangles about 10x15cm in size.

        Step 4: Fill and Seal Place filling onto one half of each rectangle, leaving a border. Fold over and press edges with a fork to seal. Transfer to a baking sheet.
