        • 1.3 kg (3 lbs) assorted root vegetables (carrots, potatoes, parsnips), chopped
        • 1 large onion, thickly sliced
        • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
        • 240 ml (1 cup) chicken broth or water

        Instructions:

        Step 1: Prepare the Pork Shoulder

        Pat the pork shoulder dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, black pepper, paprika, dried thyme, and garlic powder. Rub this seasoning blend all over the pork shoulder, ensuring it’s evenly coated.

        Step 2: Set Up the Roasting Pan

This resting period allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat. Serve the pork shoulder along with the roasted vegetables, spooning the pan drippings over the top for added flavor.
